Curried sausages are a traditional favourite recipe in many households usually passed down through the generations, making it a popular go-to comfort food meal during the cooler months. Traditionally, most curried sausage recipes are made using sliced sausages, however this recipe is all about keeping things easy by placing the sausages whole in the dish.

Yes, it’s super easy with minimum effort required. Simply brown the sausages in the frying pan, add to the large casserole dish along with sliced carrots, onions and peas. Pour over the sauce and cook in the oven for 45-50 minutes. Meanwhile, cook your rice following packet directions. With minimal effort, you’ll have a positively nourishing meal smothered with deliciously thick gravy. You can serve the savory curried sausages over rice, or on the side with mashed potato and steamed vegetables such as beans, broccoli or cauliflower if desired.

The intensity of the curried sausages is quite mild, making this dish suitable for younger children. However, you can adjust the amount of curry powder to suit your taste, adding more for a stronger curry flavour.
